Paintless paintings made on steel by heating it to create blues and purples, sanding it to make grays and silvers, acids and copper plating to make oranges, and forming it to create frames out of the same piece of metal as the "painting" in the middle.

Chiefly I work with metal for anything from a painting to a sculpture. For a couple of decades my mainstay was making monuments to peace for campuses, parks and churches. In spite of how meaning-laden those are, about art in general my feeling is that beauty is intrinsically valuable and does not have to mean something exterior to what it is.
